for Law Enforcement applications?
Q. Can
I import data from my other Pre-fire
planning database?
Q. First
Look Pro will not run and is giving
me a run time error 10048.
Q. The
viewer program is not launching from
First Look Pro when the button is pressed. No
errors are being displayed. The Viewer
path is correct in FLP Preferences,
but when I go to re-select that directory,
after clicking on the 'Viewer.exe'
file, I get an error message that says, "Record
set not updateable."
Q. My
diagrams do not show up in the lower-right

Q. First
Look Pro is a great program for Pre-Fire
planning, but do you have anything
for Law Enforcement applications?
A. Yes!
First Look Pro version 3.0 has an entire
section built into it just for the
Law Enforcement industry. Fields for
contact information, witness information,
and tactical planning are just some
of the features this new application
will have. Check back on our website
in the next few weeks for additional
information on the release of First
Look Pro version 3.0!

Q. Can
I import data from my other Pre-fire
planning database?
A. Yes!
There is now a data importer program
available that allows you to import
data from another database into First
Look Pro. Data can be imported from
Access 2000 or from an ASCII file,
which most every database program can
create.
The Data Importer is available for free from The CAD Zone, just call 800-641-9077
for information.

Q. First
Look Pro will not run and is giving
me a run time error 10048.
A. Check
to see if you have any programs running
in the background such as Cybersitter.
If so, shut down the program that
is running, or, as in the case of Cybersitter,
uninstall it.
The error is a Winsock Error, and
First Look Pro is trying to "Listen" for
incoming messages on a Port, and Cybersitter
blocks this, so First Look Pro would
not run.

A. Open
the file manager (My Computer) and
log to the drive where your FLP is
installed. From there navigate to the
Program Files/ CAD Zone/First Look
Pro folder. Locate the FLPcontrol.mdb
file and right mouse click on it. Select
Properties from the pop-up menu. Look
at the bottom of the toolbox and un-check
the "Read-only" option. Repeat
this process on the FLPdata.mdb file.
Re-boot your PC.

Q. My
diagrams do not show up in the lower-right
hand diagrams window in First Look
Pro.
A. First
Look Pro has an .ocx file that must
be registered with Windows before
the program will function properly.
If
one of the .ocx files is not registered
your diagrams will not show up in
the lower-right hand window and you
may
receive an error message.
The file that must be registered is
called: cadzoneocx.ocx. Please note
that these instructions assume you
have copied the cadzoneocx.ocx file
into your \Viewer folder. If your .ocx
file is located elsewhere (i.e. in
your \Fire Zone folder), then adjust
what you type into the run command
to reflect the file's actual location.
To register this .ocx file, make sure
you close all programs and then follow
these instructions:
1) Click on the Windows Start button
(lower-left corner of the desktop).
2)
Select Run.
3) Next, you need to type
in a command line that will "Register" the
file cadzoneocx.ocx on your computer.
The
line you type depends on which version
of Windows you are using:
If you are using Windows 95 or Windows
98, in the Run text box enter:
c:\windows\system\regsvr32.exe c:\viewer\cadzoneocx.ocx
If you are using Windows NT or Windows
2000, in the Run text box enter:
c:\winnt\system32\regsvr32.exe c:\viewer\
cadzoneocx.ocx
If you are using Windows XP, in the
Run text box enter:
c:\windows\system32\regsvr32.exe c:\viewer\
cadzoneocx.ocx
4) Click the OK button to run the
command.
5) You should receive a message
saying the command succeeded. Click
OK.
6) Re-start your computer. Now launch
First Look Pro and the program should
run correctly.
