The File Menu

· Switch to View Mode / Switch to Edit Mode

This command toggles First Look Pro from View Mode to Edit Mode or vice versa.  The program always starts in View Mode.

If First Look Pro is configured with users and passwords, some users may not see this menu item because they have a user account that doesn't allow them access Edit Mode.  

The current mode is displayed in the Mode Indicator in the upper left corner of the screen.

View Mode:  Allows you to view and print records, but does not allow you to modify records in any way. View Mode is designed to make it easy to view all the information contained in a record.  It is ideal for use on a mobile computer in your vehicle, where you need to find information fast but aren’t going to be making changes.

Edit Mode:  Allows you to create a new record or edit an existing one.   It also allows you to attach files like diagrams, images, photos, and tactical plans to a record.  Additionally, tools for managing the First Look Pro database are only available in Edit Mode.
