Once you have set up your maps in Map Designer and added the Latitude and Longitude coordinates for all your occupancies, you are ready to set up First Look Pro Map on the mobile computers in your vehicles. Refer to the First Look Pro User’s Guide for more information on setting up the various computers in your department.
First Look Pro must be installed so all the computers have the same First Look Pro Department ID and the same file folder structure. First Look Pro does not embed the actual image files into the database, it simply remembers the file path of where to find them. This means all your diagram and image files must be placed in exactly the same folders on each computer. There is a setting in First Look Pro Preferences that allows you to specify a different diagram drive letter on each computer, but the folder structures must be identical.
The same rules apply to the map layer files. They must be placed in exactly the same folders on each computer. The sample data map layer files are placed here:
C:\Program Files\Cad Zone\First Look Pro 3\Map_Layers\Beaverton
On each computer, you will need to create a new sub-folder under the \Map_Layers\ folder for your department and any mutual aid departments for which you have map files. Then place all the map data files there.
When you use Map Designer to set up your maps and adjust the options, all of those map settings are contained in the file: flpmap_data.mdb
Copy this file from the computer where you designed your maps into the application folder where First Look Pro resides on each of the computers. This file, combined with the map layer files will allow you to access the maps on all your mobile computers.
