· Fire Flow GPM Calculator
When fire service users enter an occupancy’s length, width and height in the Structure Information Screen, First Look Pro automatically calculates required fire flow volumes for 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% involvement.
Fire departments can choose between the Iowa State University and National Fire Academy fire flow methods for calculating fire flow volume.
The Iowa State University Method calculates 100% fire flow volume in GPM by multiplying Length x Width x Height divided by 100.

The National Fire Academy Method calculates Length x Width /3 = fire flow.

Fire service users can set the default method they prefer during the installation process. To choose a different fire flow method after installation:
1. In Edit Mode, select First Look Pro Preferences from the File Menu.
2. Check the box next to the fire flow method you want to use.

3. Click the Save icon to save your changes.

4. Click the Exit icon to exit Preferences.

All of your Structures Information screens will now use the newly-chosen fire flow method.
