Two methods of searching are available: “Starts With” and “Contains”:
The “Starts With” search method
In this method, typing in the search box navigates the list to the first material on the list whose name begins with the letters that were typed.
With the Starts With radio button selected, click in the Search field and type, for example, Chlorine. The search is narrowed with each letter you type. When Chlorine shows up in the HazMat list, double click on it or click Select to add it to the material field on the HazMat screen.
Note: Click Cancel to close the HazMat Search screen without adding a material to the HazMat list.
The “Contains” search Method
In this method a key word is typed into the search field and search navigates to the first material whose name contains that key word. Clicking “Next” automatically scrolls to the next material that contains the keyword, and so on until the end of the materials list is met.
For example, with the Contains radio button selected; type “sulfa” in the search field. The Search list scrolls to the first material containing the key word “sulfa” – Ammonium hydrogen sulfate, in this case.

If this is not the material you wanted, click the Next button, and the list scrolls to the next material that contains the keyword.

When you reach the desired hazardous material, double click on it or click Select to add it to the material field on the HazMat screen.
Be sure to click the Save button to save the HazMat record to the database.
