· Notes

First Look Pro has a number of Notes fields so you can enter additional information related to each of the information screens.  To enter a note, go into Edit mode, click in the desired Notes field and start typing. There is not much room on the main First Look Pro screen to display notes, but you can always expand the view of a particular note.

When in View or Edit mode, clicking the “Big Notes” magnifying glass icon causes the notes window to be maximized so that the notes are displayed in a larger, easier-to-read format.

Clicking the “Close” icon located in the upper-left corner of the maximized notes window reduces the Notes window to its original size.

Notes in Edit Mode

When in Edit mode, clicking the “Big Note” magnifying glass icon causes the notes window to be maximized and displays a set of text properties tools at the top of the text screen. You can format your notes to contain different fonts, colors, justification, and be bold, Italic, underlined, and so on.

Many of the text options, like font, font size, color, etc. can be applied to a selected portion of text in the note, or the entire note. To select text in Edit mode, hold down your mouse button and drag over the portion of text you want. Once the text is selected, choose an attribute (like size, color, or bolding) from the toolbar and it will be applied to that text.

Save to File – Saves the contents of the Notes field to a file outside of First Look Pro. Clicking this icon brings up the standard Windows “Save As” dialog box so you can assign a file name and navigate to the location where the file is to be saved.

Open From File – Use this standard Windows Open File dialog to open previously saved notes or other plain text or rich text files and display their contents in the Notes screen.

Font – Select the Font for the next text you type in, or apply a font to a selected range of text. Hold your mouse button down and drag over a portion of text to select it. Once text is selected, choose a font from the drop-down menu and it will be applied to that text. This method works for all the text attributes on the toolbar.

Font Size – Use the drop-down list to select the Font point size for new text to be placed or to be applied to selected text.

Font Color – Set the Font Color for text to be placed or applied to a selected range of text. Choose the desired font color from the drop-down menu.

Typeface icons – Sets Bold, Italic, Underline, or Strikethrough typeface for text to be placed, or applies it to a selected range of text.

Text Justification Icons – Justifies the entire text note to left, center, or right alignment on the screen.

Undo - Use the Undo command to reverse one or more of your last commands.

Redo - Use this command immediately after an Undo command to reverse the effect of the Undo by “re-doing” it. If several consecutive operations were undone, Redo can be used repeatedly to restore each one.

Cut, Copy, and Paste – These commands are the standard Windows editing methods of cut, copy and pasting sections of plain text from one section or document to another.

Stamp – Adds a history stamp to the document detailing the date, time, and user who last edited the notes field.

Save and Close – Saves the text contained in the note field and closes the “Big Notes” screen.

Note: The “Big Notes” screen may be closed without saving by clicking the Windows Red “X” icon located in the upper-right hand corner of the screen. The “Big Notes” screen will be closed and returned to the First Look Pro information screen without closing the program completely.
