· The Hazards Screen
Use this screen to list information about any hazardous materials stored at the site. You can enter as many hazmat items as you wish. You can also enter the standard DOT ID number and Guide number. Entries are listed in the order that they were entered rather than alphabetical order, so be sure to enter the most important data first!

Clicking the Hazard Type button allows you to select from an alphabetical list of hazardous materials. Typing in the box navigates the list to the first material on the list that begins with the letters typed. Click on the item you want to add it to the hazards list.

The Hazards Screen automatically alerts you if the selected chemical has any reactivity to water suppression or has any I/PD issues by “red-lighting” these items in the details area or at the top of the Emergency Response Guidebook view.
If you press the H2O/React or I/PD buttons in the Guidebook view, the related information will be displayed for you.

The View Mode screen shows a summary of all the Hazards records in a tabular format.
Click on any Hazards item in the table and then click the Guide# button to see the related DOT Handbook information.

For example, clicking on “Calcium hydrosulfite” in the list displays Guide Number #135. When the Guide # button is clicked, the DOT HazMat manual is loaded on the screen with the related information for materials #135 displayed.
