Records

· What is a record?

If you think of a database like First Look Pro as a filing cabinet, then a record is like a file in that filing cabinet.  A record, just like a file folder, contains a variety of forms, drawings, photos and documents all related to the same topic – in this case a building or group of buildings.

When you create a new record in First Look Pro it’s just like starting a new file folder of documents, except in this case you enter the file name on screen instead of writing it by hand on a folder.  And unlike paper files, First Look Pro records can be filed under several different names simultaneously (occupant name, address, or pre-plan ID number).

You can fill out forms about the structure, access and hazards of an occupancy and place those forms in the record.

You can also select drawings, diagrams, photos and your own documents to place in the record.
