Attention System Administrators

While First Look Pro is very easy to use, there is a certain amount of planning and setup that must be accomplished, especially if you are using First Look Pro across a network or on mobile computers.

Someone must be assigned as your System Administrator.  This person will decide where data files will be located, will set up user names and passwords, and will perform critical database maintenance, including backing up all the data and keeping all computers updated.  There are a variety of Database Tools included in First Look Pro. To access these tools, go into Edit Mode and then select the Database Tools menu.

Some features, such as Backup Database, should be performed regularly, maybe even every day if many changes are being made to the database. Other features, such as Import Mutual Aid Database may only be used once, or not at all, depending on how you are using First Look Pro.
